2026 Notice of Proposed Rule Change – Supervision of SLP-Assistants

Dear Licensees and Members of the Public,

The North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
is proposing a rule change to update the manner in which supervision of Assistants
shall be documented and provided by Supervising Licensees.

Based on public comments received during the prior notice period, the Board made revisions to the proposed rule text to provide additional clarity and to better align with existing supervision standards and current Board practices.

This proposed change is intended to clarify supervision requirements and ensure
consistent standards across the profession.
